MONICA BODWAY
Expressive Artist
Curator
Creative Guide

For over 30 years, Monica has explored the many ways creativity helps people reconnect with themselves, their stories and
each other.

As the founder of Moods Art Studio & Gallery in Waukesha, Monica has created an intimate creative space centered around expressive art, meaningful conversation and human connection, particularly for women navigating personal growth, reinvention and midlife transitions.

With a background in graphic design, art direction and fine art education, Monica eventually found herself drawn less to traditional art instruction and more to the emotional and personal side of creativity.

During her own midlife transition, she began turning to process-based art making as a way to express feelings that felt difficult to put into words. Through that experience, she discovered that creativity could become a language for reflection, identity, healing and transformation.

What began as private creative guidance sessions slowly evolved into something much larger: a welcoming cultural space where women gather to create, explore ideas, share stories, attend exhibitions, experience artist talks and reconnect with parts of themselves often lost in the noise of everyday life.

Today, Monica opens the doors of Moods for expressive painting sessions, curated exhibitions, artist talks and creative gatherings designed to make art feel approachable, meaningful and deeply human.
